Seminar in Field Instruction (SIFI)

Registration for the FALL 2026 offerings is now OPEN.

Keep an eye on this space. Spring SIFI registration will open later in the fall.

There is no fee for the seminar.

Eligibility Requirements

Eligibility Requirements

SIFI Participants must have:

  • An MSW, no other degree can be used to supervised CSSW interns
  • At least 3 years post MSW experience in order to sit for the course.
  • For CSSW graduates there is a 2-year post graduation requirement.
  • SIFI participants must be supervising a CSSW practicum student at their place of employment.


Completing the SIFI application does not guarantee enrollment in the SIFI Course. Enrollment is finalized after a CSSW student is formally assigned and accepted for the academic year.

This course is available only to instructors who are outside of the Tri-State (NY, NJ, CT) area or who have five or more years of supervision experience. Please review the  Abbreviated 3 Session Course* attendance and CEU policy.
