The poverty scholars at the Center on Poverty and Social Policy and the China Center for Social Policy had a highly productive year. Professor Qin Gao, founding director of the China Center, ran a robust events program while also leading an ambitious research agenda focused on poverty alleviation in China and the rest of Asia.

Meanwhile, the Poverty Center research team, led by research scientist Chris Wimer and Professor Irwin Garfinkel, while continuing to produce a stream of influential research briefs, expanded the scope of their collaboration with Robin Hood, New York City’s largest poverty-fighting organization.
