M. KATHERINE SHEAR, MD
Dr. Kathy Shear, founder and director of the Center for Complicated Grief (bio), will discuss how to recognize prolonged grief and understand how it develops. This will include a way of thinking about grief and adapting to loss. She will discuss pathways to prolonged grief and the unique challenges posed by a loss during COVID-19.
The Center for Complicated Grief is dedicated to improving the lives of people suffering from complicated grief by helping clinicians and the general public learn how to recognize complicated grief. The Center was established in 2013 to disseminate information about a short-term efficacious treatment for this condition.
