For this lecture, Dr. Alida Bouris will discuss findings from a study that tested the implementation and effectiveness of a behavioral health screener and referral to an online positive affect intervention for people living with HIV and depression. People living with HIV have high rates of unmet behavioral health needs, often due a lack of routine behavioral health screening and the presence of barriers that limit timely access to care. Unmet behavioral health needs are associated with poorer HIV care outcomes and can negatively affect people’s overall quality of life. She will discuss lessons learned for addressing the continued problems of unmet behavioral health needs among people living with HIV and the implications for reframing community and organizationally engaged implementation science research.
