Workshop Description
This one-day workshop, presented by Peer-Reviewed ACT trainer Brian Mundy, LCSW-R, will cover the basics of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and its application with persons struggling with experiences around trauma. The training is designed for practitioners both familiar and unfamiliar with ACT. In the workshop we will look at the impact of trauma on the mind and the body, and engage in learning interventions aimed at promoting psychological flexibility.
Learning Objectives
By attending this workshop, participants will be able to:
- identify the three primary processes that contribute to psychological flexibility
- understand the impact of trauma on the body and the mind
- learn to shape trauma treatment beyond a focus on symptoms
- learn about the nature and function of exposure work as an intervention
