One of the programs being held in honor of the Weatherhead East Asian Institute’s 70th Anniversary, the 2019 Urban China Forum will explore, from a multi-disciplinary perspective, the phenomenally rapid and widespread urbanization that has taken place in China since it began its transition to a market economy. What impact has the urbanization process had on the country’s economic growth, environment and land resources, urban form and lifestyle, social fabric and welfare, and population and health?
