Social Work Faculty/Staff Team Presenting at CTL Symposium
The School of Social Work is proud to announce that a faculty/staff team from the school will participate in next week’s Center for Teaching and Learning’s 2019 Celebration of Teaching and Learning Symposium.
Professor Katherine Shear (Marion E. Kenworthy Professor of Psychiatry in Social Work), Kristin Garay (Manager of Online Campus Technologies), and Matthea Marquart (Director of Online Campus Administration) will present their poster, “Find the Words: Helping Students Develop Better Clinical Skills.” The poster presents the teaching innovation developed during Professor Shear’s Fall 2018 online Introduction to Grief Therapy course, which she redesigned with a 2018 Teaching & Learning Grant for Hybrid Learning Course Redesign and Delivery from the Office of the Provost.
The annual symposium—which takes place next Tuesday, March 12, 1:00–6:00 p.m. in Low Library–celebrates the ways that faculty and graduate students are transforming their courses and pedagogies. The School of Social Work trio will present their poster during the Interactive Showcase of Teaching Innovations, 3:00–4:30 p.m. in the Low Library Rotunda.
If you’re unable to attend, you can view their poster here.
