Next Community of Scholars Meeting: Multiculturalism in Domestic Violence Services
February 1, 2004 @ 5:00 am
The next Community of Scholars Meeting will be held on Thursday February 26th at 1:15 PM in Room 815, McVickar Hall.
This installment will examine the place for multiculturalism in domestic violence services and will be presented by Marianne Yoshioka and Deborah Choi. Their paper on this topic addresses the importance of culture within the context of domestic violence and suggests that in order to work more effectively with diverse cultural groups, new kinds of domestic violence interventions must be developed. Their research points to intervention models currently in use in the HIV/AIDS and child welfare fields as good blueprints. All are welcome to attend.
