When Columbia University announced in March that classes would be going online, many of the School of Social Work’s degree candidates for Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy wondered: will we have a commencement ceremony? As they now know, for the safety of our community, we will not be gathering under one roof. Rather, the School will be hosting a virtual ceremony to be held at our originally scheduled date and time of May 20, 2020, at 2:30 p.m. EDT.

But even if our community cannot come together to congratulate our graduates in the usual way, we can still find ways to keep this year’s graduation special. That’s why we’ve created this page. We hereby invite members of our community to post congratulatory messages and supportive words for the Class of 2020, who have persevered through so much to get to the finish line. If you would like to leave a message, please post it as a comment.

Meanwhile, please allow the entire CSSW faculty and staff community to be the first to offer hearty congratulations to the Class of 2020: YOU DID IT!
