CUSSW’s Akabas Named ‘International Scholar’

CUSSW Professor Shelley Akabas was named an International Scholar by the Albert and Elaine Borchard Foundation at the Chateau de la Bretesche in Loire Atlantique, France. Akabas was one of 12 scholars invited to attend the Borchand Foundation’s conference, “Workforce Diversity in the US and Europe: Effective Public and Private Policies That Improve Corporate, Community and Employee Relations” held from July 6th through 10th. At conference’s end, Akabas will resume work on two grants, one with Community Trust exploring the employment of peers in mental health centers and the other from HIP to evaluate their mental health centers.
