Allen Zweben to Deliver Keynote Address at the 40th NASW-NYC Addictions Institute

New York, NY – Dr. Allen Zweben, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and Research at Columbia University School of Social Work (CUSSW), will deliver the keynote address at the 40th Anniversary conference of the National Association of Social Workers-New York City Chapter’s Addictions Institute.
Dr. Zweben will speak during the 11:30am plenary session on Thursday, June 5, 2008 at the Fordham University Lincoln Center Campus. His presentation is entitled, “Two Decades of Treating Addictive Behaviors: Integrating Practice Wisdom and Evidence-Based Practice.”
“I am honored to be part of this conference to address the challenges involved in integrating conventional wisdom and research findings to improve agency practice,” said Dr. Zweben. “Hopefully, my presentation will enhance an understanding of how to develop and/or adopt evidence-based approaches for treating substance use problems in clinical settings.”
