Amy Kapadia is a research scientist at the New York State Psychiatric Institute. Her research interests are two-fold: (1) mental health effects of discrimination and stigma among marginalized groups (2) psycho-social intervention development/evaluation for adults with severe mental illness with a focus micro-to-macro level barriers to treatment and recovery. Her clinical experience primarily involves individuals with severe mental illness and substance use issues in residential and community-based settings. Currently, she teaches Human Behavior and the Social Environment at CSSW and Research II at the Silver School of Social Work at New York University.
