Mimi Woods, a native New Yorker, is a Licensed Social Worker, Certified School Social Worker, performance artist, and an all-around mover and shaker!

Using therapeutic techniques, education, art, culture, and spirituality as the catalyst, Mimi is passionate and invested in creating transformative programs and events; inspiring change makers; and reminding individuals and communities of their self-worth!

As a therapist and performance artist, she has been blessed to use her initiatives LoveFirst, Something for the People, and #TheMsWoodsyProject as the platform to encourage the art of storytelling and healing and is invested in ensuring that our narratives continue to transfer from generations to come.

Many people ask how she finds the time to do all the things that she does. Her reply is simple. “I am happy that God is using me in whatever way that he sees fit to bring whatever I’m supposed to bring into your life!  We both win!”

Mimi can be found serving the community as an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated-New York Alumnae Chapter, gracing the stage as a senior company member of Forces of Nature Dance Theatre Company, enjoying quality time with family and friends, or cuddled in a local coffee shop creating the next big thing…sipping Moroccan mint tea of course!

Ms. Woods received her BA and MA in Social Science from SUNY Binghamton University and her MSW from Columbia University School of Social Work with a clinical focus on family, youth, and children.
