Johanna Creswell Báez is a Senior Researcher at Southwest Key Programs in Austin, TX. She co-founded the New York branch of the non-profit Wediko Children’s Services, and serves as their Research and Grants Manager long-distance from her home in Austin. At Wediko, she writes grants and oversees a multi-site program evaluation assessing social learning, emotional learning, and trauma with inner-city students. She provides weekly distance clinical supervision, and directs program decisions as part of the senior administration.

Dr. Báez has experience providing direct clinical service to emotionally challenged youth and their families in residential settings, public schools, and private practice. Other experience includes program development, advocacy, staff training, grant writing, financial management, and program evaluation, with a specialization in qualitative and mixed methods research. Dr. Báez holds a master’s degree from the Columbia School of Social Work (2006) and a PhD in clinical social work from Smith College (2015).
