Cindy M. Bautista-Thomas, LCSW, is a PhD candidate in the Urban Education Program at the CUNY Graduate Center, and Associate Director of Field Education at the Columbia School of Social Work. At Columbia, she coordinates internships in schools and aging programs, as well as the annual field placement fair.  She also teaches the Seminar for Field Instruction and co-chairs the Conference Committee for the School Social Work Conference at Columbia, co-sponsored by the New York State School Social Worker’s Association.  She has over twenty years of social work experience in private child welfare and early intervention agencies, public schools, higher education and research.

Prior to Columbia, Mrs. Bautista-Thomas served for eight years as a bilingual social worker, field instructor, faculty trainer, and student/parent advocate at the New York City Department of Education. She earned her BSW from Stony Brook University, and her MSW from University at Albany, State University of New York.
