Allen Levine teaches Health, Mental Illness, and Disabilities at CSSW. He earned his MSW from New York University in 1977, and a Certificate in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from Long Island Institute for Mental Health in 1982.

Mr. Levine has primarily served as a social worker, supervisor, and administrator for persons diagnosed with acute, chronic, and life-limiting illnesses and their family members. He maintains a private practice and consults extensively with schools, hospitals, mental health centers, and unions. Mr. Levine’s publications include “The Trajectory of Illness” in Living with Dying: A Handbook for End-of-Life Health Care Practitioners and “Working with Adolescents: Patients, Caregivers, and Siblings” in Social Work in Oncology.
