Siddhi Patel

Siddhi Patel is a licensed Clinical Psychologist in NJ and NY and the founder of Meraki Psychology Center, LLC a private practice in Central NJ.

She completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at Rutgers University and then received her Psy.D. from The University of Hartford on the Child & Adolescent track. Dr. Patel went on to pursue specialized Dialectical Behavior Treatment (DBT) training in her post graduate fellowship and then worked with college students at Rutgers University’s counseling center. She completed her intensive training in DBT through Behavioral Tech. In addition to DBT, Dr. Patel has advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for anxiety and depression, Exposure and Response Prevention, Prolonged Exposure, and Cognitive Processing Therapy.

Dr. Patel’s private practice focuses on treating members of the LGBTQIAA and BIPOC communities through a culturally competent lens. In particular, she specializes in providing a variety of cognitive behavioral therapies for adolescents and adults struggling with borderline personality disorder, emotion dysregulation, obsessive compulsive disorder and related disorders, trauma and abuse, anxiety and mood disorders, eating disorders and difficulties related to life transitions. She works closely with minority groups regarding cultural and identity related issues. Dr. Patel’s research focused on expanding our understanding of factors that are important to South Asians related to food habits, body image and eating disorders. Being witness to limited South Asian representation in mental health, Dr. Patel has cultivated a practice tailoring evidenced based treatments for South Asians and other minority groups through a racial equity lens & with emphasis on reducing the stigma towards mental health treatment that is prevalent in these groups.
