Sallene S. Murphy, LCSW immigrated to the US from Jamaica as a child. While she grew up and was educated in Connecticut and New York, she has kept strong connections to her community in St. Catherine Jamaica, visiting several times a year. Currently a doctoral candidate at Smith College School for Social Work in Northampton MA, she received her MSW from NYU. Sallene is an adjunct professor at the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford CT also maintaining a private practice in both West Hartford CT and Northampton MA. Her passion lies in academia and educating the West Indian community about the importance of mental health awareness.
