Phuong Nguyen

Phuong Nguyen maintains a private practice in Brooklyn, New York, working with children, teenagers, and adults in individual, couples, and group therapy. She is trained in treating mental health effects of trauma, depression, anxiety, and addiction as well as universal life transitions, losses, self-esteem, and interpersonal issues. She uses a psychodynamic approach, incorporating mindfulness, CBT skills, and self-care.

Ms. Nguyen was born in Saigon, Vietnam, grew-up in the suburbs north of Washington, D.C., and attended undergraduate college in North Carolina at Duke University. She has lived in NYC for over 16 years. Prior to studying clinical social work, she worked in journalism at ABC News for several years as a magazine show producer and international affairs reporter. She went on to receive her MSW at NYU Silver School of Social Work and to teach at clinical social work at both NYU and Hunter College.
