Mimi Woods, LCSW, is a certified school social worker and a performance artist. Using therapeutic techniques, education, art, and spirituality, she creates transformative programs and events designed to inspire change makers and remind individuals and communities of their self-worth. Her initiatives LoveFirst, Something for the People, and #TheMsWoodsyProject encourage the art of storytelling and healing, and pass down narratives from generation to generation. She is guided by her philosophy: “I am happy that God is using me in whatever way that he sees fit to bring whatever I’m supposed to bring into your life! We both win!”
Ms. Woods serves her community as a member of the New York Alumnae Chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. She performs as a senior company member of Forces of Nature Dance Theatre Company. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, or cuddled in a local coffee shop sipping Moroccan mint tea and creating the next big thing. Ms. Woods earned her BA and MA in Social Science from SUNY Binghamton University, and her MSW from the Columbia School of Social Work with a clinical focus on family, youth, and children.
