Maddy Ellberger

Maddy Ellberger received her Master of Science in Clinical Social Work from Columbia University School of Social Work with a dual degree MSEd. in Early Childhood Special and General Education from Bank Street College of Education. Maddy is currently a Senior Staff Clinician and the Director of Mindfulness Programs at the Center for Cognitive and Dialectical behavior Therapy, a private therapy center in Long Island and Manhattan. Maddy is intensively trained by Behavioral Tech, LLC., in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Adolescents (DBT-A). Maddy has received extensive training in evidence-based treatments including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Parent Management Training (PMT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT); and has provided treatment to children, adolescents, families, and adults with anxiety, mood, trauma/stressor, and personality disorders. In addition to her clinical work and prior education, Maddy is currently completing a Doctorate in Clinical Social Work at NYU with a research focus on emotional functioning and mindfulness capacity of parents in DBT-A. Maddy has published chapters in textbooks about Borderline Personality Disorder as well as a recent book about providing treatment during the COVID-19 Pandemic. In addition to her academic work at Columbia, she is currently an adjunct faculty member at the University of Haifa in Israel, and has also taught masters level students at NYU.
