Karen Golden

Karen Golden is the director of the Military Services Program at Cornerstone Family Programs in Morristown, NJ. She leads a leads a multi-disciplinary team of outreach and counseling staff that provides direct services to military members, veterans, and their families. Signature programs include a confidential counseling program for combat veterans and their families, and Operation Sisterhood, a female veterans program. Ms. Golden is also a consultant on military family quality of life issues.

Ms. Golden previously served as deputy director of government relations for the Military Officers Association of America in Alexandria, VA. She advocated for military families through state and federal legislation, and lobbied for military spouse employment, military children’s education, and military family quality of life. She has addressed audiences at the White House and Capitol Hill on topics related to the military family and the veteran community.

Ms. Golden is an active volunteer in the military and civilian community. She is the recipient of the Army’s Outstanding Civilian Service Award and the Navy Marine Corps Relief Society’s Superior Service Award. A native of Evanston, Ill., Ms. Golden holds a Bachelor of Arts from Bradley University and a Master of Social Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
