Adjunct Lecturer

Jill Zalayet

Jill Zalayet is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She began her career in family and children services, working extensively with the family court system, providing services for families at risk. Specifically, she has worked with children, adolescents, and families in a hospital setting, in the foster care and adoption system, with a PINS diversion program, and as a forensic expert, providing custody and visitation reports for the family courts in NYC. It was through her work with families and children that Jill became interested in the intergenerational transmission of trauma and the psychodynamic underpinnings of early complex trauma.

Jill has completed the requirements to become a certified psychoanalyst through the American Institute for Psychoanalysis and is also a doctoral candidate at New York University’s Silver School of Social Work. She has a full-time private practice in Manhattan and specializes in the treatment of trauma, in addition to providing supervision for professional social workers.
