Franklin Swayne
Lieutenant Colonel David Franklin Swayne, LCSW, is Director of the Peak Performance Center for the United States Air Force Academy. He is a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work, and is rated as a Chief, Biomedical Science Corps officer. After a short period as a social worker in the civilian sector, Lieutenant Colonel Swayne entered the United States Air Force in 1995, receiving a direct commission as a First Lieutenant in the Biomedical Services Corps. He is a career behavioral scientist, and through a variety of positions has focused on mental health, family advocacy, alcohol and drug abuse prevention and treatment, drug demand reduction, and suicide prevention. He is married to Dr. Susan M. Swayne and has one child, a son, Ethan.
Lieutenant Colonel Swayne is a graduate of Squadron Officer School, and Air Command and Staff College. He is a 1990 graduate of Campbell University, and a 1995 graduate of East Carolina University.
