Emily Waters
Emily Waters is a community based researcher and policy advocate who focuses on using participatory methods to evaluate programs and legislative efforts. Emily has partnered extensively with organizations who work on LGBTQ rights, domestic and sexual violence policy, and immigrant justice to ensure policy solutions are driven by community needs and challenge systemic oppression. Previous organizations she has partnered with include Transgender Law Center, GLSEN, The National LGBTQ Institute on Intimate Partner Violence, and the National Coalition of Anti-Violence Programs. Her work can be found in The New York Times, HuffPost, and the Advocate. She holds a Masters of Social Work and a Masters of Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
