Donald Nathanson

Donald Nathanson, LCSW-R, maintains a private clinical practice in Westchester County, NY. He primarily provides Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to children, adolescents, and young adults. Previously, Mr. Nathanson was clinical faculty at Weill Cornell Medicine and New York-Presbyterian Hospital, where he was the the co-director of the Adolescent DBT Program and clinical director for the Youth DBT Program.

At Weill Cornell, Mr. Nathanson was co-investigator on several clinical trials examining the efficacy and feasibility of DBT for pre-adolescent children (DBT-C), with his work being published in the Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He has co-authored a chapter on the etiology, course, and treatment of childhood personality disorders in Treatment of Disorders in Childhood and Adolescence, Fourth Edition. Mr. Nathanson has also trained professional-level clinicians nationally on DBT through his affiliation with Behavioral Tech, LLC, and given many presentations on the implementation of DBT-C.

He holds a BA in Psychology from Georgetown University, and an MSW from Columbia University School of Social Work.
