Dawn Shedrick

Dawn E. Shedrick a licensed clinical social worker with two decades’ experience in the human services. She received her BS in Finance from Quinnipiac University and MSW from Stony Brook University with a concentration in Planning, Administration and Research (PAR).

Dawn possesses a broad range of social work experience in most areas of practice, including case management, clinical practice, social justice, program development, program evaluation, supervision and executive management. Over the course of her career she has worked with people infected/affected by HIV/AIDS, homeless and food insecure individuals and families and the LGBTQ community.

Dawn’s particular specializations and passions lie in anti-oppressive social work practice, the LGBTQ community, trauma-informed care, self-care for social workers, supervision and case management. She’s presented workshops at conferences and other social work events throughout the United States and in Puerto Rico, Canada and China.

In 2013, Dawn established JenTex Training & Consulting, a training and consulting form that’s an authorized continuing education provider for licensed social workers throughout the United States, Canada and the U.S. Virgin Islands. JenTex designs and delivers workshops at nonprofit organizations, healthcare facilities government service organizations and community based organizations in person and online.

Dawn has taught human services and social work courses at St. Joseph’s College (NY), Fordham University and Adelphi University. She’s also developed and delivered mental and emotional wellness workshops for various Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) and in corporate settings including JPMorgan Chase, The New York Mets Administration, Travelers Insurance, Office Depot and Canon USA.
