Dr. Carla Smith is the Director of Finance and Administration for the New York City Gay and Lesbian Anti-Violence Project. She has more than twenty-five years of experience in the nonprofit sector, and has been responsible for the management of fiscal and administrative functions, government and corporate grants, annual audits, IT/MIS, human resources, and office operations. In programs experience, she oversaw residential and non-residential services addressing domestic violence and homelessness, and is the co-founder of a New Jersey-based not-for-profit organization. She believes her experience has allowed her to develop a unique understanding of the nonprofit service arena, and has facilitated her ability to help organizations meet their individual missions. Dr. Smith holds a doctorate of education in executive leadership, and a master’s of education in counseling psychology.
