Andria Whited

Andria L. Whited, CIP, is a protocol analyst for the Institutional Review Board at New York Psychiatric Institute (NYSPI), which reviews mental health and substance abuse research. In this role, she consults with investigators and their staffs as they develop their studies about how best to apply federal regulations on human subject research. She is also a meditation teacher through the Foundation for Active Compassion, and she leads meditation sessions at NYSPI and at Union Theological Seminary.

Ms. Whited previously served as a project manager for researchers at the Columbia Department of Child Psychiatry at NYSPI. The first research programs she managed focused on mental health in the juvenile justice population. Later programs included the NY State Office of Mental Health’s PSYCKES project. She earned her MSW from the Columbia School of Social Work in 2005, with a Policy Practice Concentration.
