The author of six books, Compton Foundation Centennial Professor Jane Waldfogel is a world authority on policies that affect the well-being of children and families, including paid parental leave, universal preschool, and factors that increase social mobility. Summoned in early March of this year to address the House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Worker and Family Support, she called on Congress to update paid family and medical leave policies and to increase childcare subsidies to better support family wellbeing and children’s health and development.
