Join our Facebook LIVE series every Wednesday at noon. This year’s focus is social impact, and CSSW lecturer Richard Hara (bio) is host.
About the Episode
Join us on the 18th anniversary of September 11, 2001, when Dr. Ellen Lukens (bio) and Dr. Helle Thorning (bio) talk to Social Impact LIVE host Richard Hara (bio) about the crisis-oriented intervention they developed to serve the needs of diverse community members in New York City who were affected, either directly or indirectly, by the destruction of the twin towers. The two researchers will reflect on the need to educate affected community members about mental health strategies that can help them build resiliency and hope in the wake of tragedy. Discussion will also focus on whether their model can be applied to other contexts, such as natural disasters.
When: Wednesday, September 11, 2019; 12:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Where: Tune in remotely on Facebook.*
