In this episode of Social Impact LIVE, host Richard Hara (bio) sits down with alumna Jenny Crawford (bio), an associate director in CSSW’s field department who specializes in forensic social work, and Lorna Woodham (bio), a 2018 graduate of CSSW, about the crucial role social workers can play in helping inmates transition to society upon their release. Crawford and Woodham are partnering in an effort to support an innovative reentry court program started up in the state of New Jersey, called ReNew. Targeted at federal prisoners who have had at least five years of incarceration, ReNew seeks to provide services that will help these individuals reshape their lives and diminish the risk of recidivism.
