About the Workshop

Jennifer Colby

As the aging population increases due to demographic trends and people living longer, it seems strange that the subject of sexuality in older people is rarely discussed or even acknowledged. Yet sexuality is present at some level all the way through life, and clinicians have a need to learn more about situations involving sexuality and older adults. This workshop, led by Jennifer Colby, LCSW, C-ACSW, CCM (bio), will help destigmatize the subject of sex and sexual behavior in older adults. It will offer social workers, case managers, and other health practitioners the necessary tools and skills for managing situations related to older people’s sexual needs, along with techniques for advocating, in a dignified manner, for their rights to a sexual life.
