What is a “Sanctuary” city, and what other legal remedies do undocumented persons have today? In a rapidly changing political climate, it’s critical to sort through the misconceptions and prepare for the new challenges emerging today.

Please join the Mexican Coalition for the Empowerment of Youth and Families and CSSW for a co-sponsored interactive forum that brings together three different perspectives to help contextualize the immigrant experience under the current federal administration.

Mr. Guzman from the Mexican Coalition will share his experience working with immigrants in legal clinics and Know Your Rights sessions, and will discuss issues exacerbated by recent executive orders. As a journalist, Mr. Benitez will share his perspective on the impact news media has had on the Latino immigrant community. Finally from the legal perspective, Mr. Alicea will unpack the legal ramifications of “Sanctuary,” existing legal remedies, and other practical legal tools for undocumented persons exploring immigration status adjustments.
