This webinar will review the empirical evidence of utilization of motivational interviewing (MI) with older adults across health behaviors, describe the shifting motivations that older adults may have across generations, identify the unique circumstances of substance use and related problems that may affect intervention, and present results from two recent studies on MI with older adults.

Alexis Kuerbis, LCSW, PhD (bio) is Associate Professor at Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College of the City University of New York. She is a licensed clinical social worker with over 25 years of experience in a variety of clinical, public health, and social service settings, specializing in substance abuse treatment.
