Mental Health Reform in Israel: Challenge and Opportunity

In July 2015, Israeli authorities transferred responsibility for hospital and ambulatory mental health services from government to health maintenance organizations. At this seminar, Uri Aviram (bio), Zena Harman Professor Emeritus of Social Work at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem—he recently retired from the position of the Dean of the School of Social and Community Sciences at Ruppin Academic Center in Israel—will present a paper examining the opportunities and challenges associated with the implementation of this reform.
