ABOUT THE EVENT

From 2014 to 2016 in New York State, the maternal mortality rate for black women was 51.6 deaths per 100,000 live births, compared to 15.9 deaths for white women. In light of the strain COVID-19 has placed on hospital systems, it is likely that conditions for black mothers have only worsened.

Please join Dr. Wilcox for an urgent and timely talk about advocacy efforts addressing the structural racism and poverty that continue to produce these disparate outcomes.
