Introduction to Acceptance Commitment Therapy 2-Day Workshop
Registration is required. Continuing Education units available (see registration page for details).
About the Workshop:
Day 1 – Wednesday July 17, 2019
Day 2 – Wednesday July 24, 2019
This two-day workshop will provide an introduction to Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), an empirically based behavioral treatment modality that employs present moment awareness, acceptance, and other processes to support behavior change. The philosophy of change in ACT is consistent with other “third wave CBT” modalities, in that the primary goal is not symptom reduction but instead the promotion of greater psychological flexibility in the face of uncomfortable thoughts, memories, sensations, and emotions so that individuals exercise greater freedom engaging in values-driven behavior.
