DESCRIPTION
In 1948, the World Health Organization defined health as a “state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity”. The past two decades have seen a shift in the medical field towards such an integrative practice – treating the whole person, rather than simply their disease. Mental health professionals are starting to catch up.
How can we help our clients ameliorate symptoms of mental illness, but also live in a state of optimal well-being? The field of positive psychology offers solutions. Over the course of two days, participants will embark on a journey through the pathways of human flourishing, and will be introduced to evidence-based positive psychology interventions to supplement clinical practice.
