About the Workshop
This workshop will explore the use of play-based interventions when working with young people in diverse social work settings. Presenter Katherine K. Tineo-Komatsu, LCSW, RYT (bio) will examine strategies that will help us move beyond crisis management and into therapeutic treatment. We will discuss the importance of the inner child as it relates to countertransference and focus on the role of authentic relational connections to engage young people. We will work together to identify how social workers and young people can effectively utilize play-based interventions to address and begin to cope with traumas, mental health conditions, and interpersonal relational issues.
The interventions are geared toward Pre-K to 12th Grade. For more information, including full presenter bio and workshop learning objectives, please see the registration page.
