About the Event
Part memoir, part history, part investigation, the film Chinese Couplets spans two centuries, three countries, and four generations of women in an intimate story that reveals the impact of America’s Chinese Exclusion era on the filmmaker’s family.
“Chinese Couplets is journalist filmmaker Felicia Wong’s most probing, soulful, and accomplished documentary…”
—Professor John Kuo Wei Tchen, Co-founder, Museum of Chinese in America
Join filmmaker Felicia Lowe (bio) for a screening of her highly personal, magical journey about family and identity, mothers and daughters, being immigrant and being American.
The film will be followed by a discussion moderated by Dr. Jinyu Liu, Assistant Professor of Social Work (bio).
This event is cosponsored by the China Center for Social Policy and the School of Social Work.
