The Lucille N. Austin Lecture focuses on pressing issues facing social workers and the communities they serve. This year’s theme underscores social justice for the transgender community. Keynote speaker, Dr. David Johns, will speak to issues transgender individuals face such as violence, harsh stigma, and legislative blocks to health care. This lecture will help enable our profession to amplify interventions in the societal and healthcare arenas. A panel discussion will follow with David Goldenberg, M.D. and Ms. Audrey Swanson.
