Yifan Lou
Yifan Lou’s research interests: Hospice & Palliative Care, Health Care Decision-making, Advance Care Planning, Quality of Life of Older Adults with Age-related Diseases
Yifan Lou is a doctoral student concentrating in Social Policy Analysis at the Columbia School of Social Work. Her research interests center on gerontology and aging policy with special attention to palliative and hospice care for older adults with age-related diseases, conditions, and/or special needs, including decision-making for older patients and surrogates, culturally-appropriate end-of-life care and related Medicare policy, and quality of life of a family unit. Before coming to CSSW, Yifan earned her Master’s degree in Social Work with a concentration in policy and administration at the University of Chicago, School of Social Service Administration. She holds a BA in Social Work from East China University of Science and Technology in Shanghai, China.
