Ajita Singh’s research interests: Health, Social Policy, Poverty and inequality, Sustainable human development, Refugees and migrants, Women, peace, and security, Gender based violence, Resilience


Ajita is a Social Policy Analysis and Economics PhD student, focusing on women’s health and gendered inequities in health and health services under the guidance of Dr. Nabila El-Bassel. Ajita’s research focuses on human development, social protection, and livelihoods of vulnerable populations. As a doctoral research assistant, Ajita is currently working with the Social Intervention Group (SIG)/Advancing Solutions in Policy, Implementation, Research and Engagement for Refugees (ASPIRE) team on economic security and health issues among Syrian refugees. Ajita holds a MPA in Economic and Political Development from School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), Columbia University.
