Our Transfer program is open to students who have completed a full year of field and course work at another CSWE-accredited graduate school of social work in the United States within five years of the term for which they are applying. You may receive a maximum of 30 transfer credits toward the M.S. degree at Columbia. In order to earn the 60 credits, at least 30 credits must be completed at CSSW. These include 9 credits in field education and 21 credits in social work classroom courses. If you are accepted into the Transfer Program, you can expect to complete your studies within one academic year. Note: The number of transfer credits you receive is subject to review by the offices of Admission and Enrollment & Student Services.
