All professional graduate schools encourage their students to supplement their studies with valuable real-world experience, but in social work, field work is vital. It prepares students for practice as social workers, and it turns them into agents for community and organizational change. Last year, 843 M.S. students provided at least half a million hours of service to agencies, organizations, corporations, schools and other entities in the New York metropolitan area, Washington, D.C., and overseas. Some of them were also apprenticed to our School’s leading scholars. This slideshow presents ten members of that cohort and some highlights from their experiences.
