Nancy Ring is a licensed clinical social worker, specializing in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), with twenty five years of experience in the field of psychiatry and mental health. Ms. Ring has spent her clinical social work career in numerous settings including community mental health agencies, the criminal justice system, inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services in both academic and private hospitals, a teaching institute and private practice.
Since 1998, Ms. Ring’s work has been in DBT, including direct clinical practice, skills training, family consultation, consultation team leader, trainer and supervisor, across numerous settings with varied populations. She is currently in private practice providing DBT to individuals with personality disorder and co-occurring Axis I diagnosis and DBT-based family consultation. She is also a regular guest lecturer on DBT-related subjects.
Ms. Ring received her undergraduate degree from Syracuse University and her MSW from New York University Ehrenkrantz School of Social Work. She also has a post graduate certificate in teaching from Hunter College School of Social Work and advanced clinical training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
