Kimberly Spencer Suarez is a doctoral candidate at Columbia School of Social Work. Her research interests are focused on aging in the criminal justice system and issues related to incarceration and reentry of older adults. Prior to coming to Columbia, Kimberly worked in hospice and nonprofit settings. More recently, she has engaged in clinical research and program development for the Misdemeanor Assessment Project at the Center for Court Innovation and serves as an organizer of the Justice Working Group (co-sponsored by the Center for Justice and the Columbia Population Research Center). Kimberly holds a BA in History and an MSW (emphases in clinical practice and aging), both from UCLA.
