Johanna Creswell Báez is an adjunct assistant professor at Columbia University School of Social Work and the University of Texas at Austin School of Social Work. Johanna co-founded the non-profit branch, Wediko Children’s Services New York, in New York City and currently works as their Research and Grants Manager from a distance and works locally in Austin, TX with the non-profit Southwest Key Programs as a Senior Researcher. In her work with Wediko New York, she does grant writing, oversees a multi-site program evaluation assessing social and emotional learning and the intersection trauma with inner-city students, provides weekly distance clinical supervision, and is a part of the senior administration team in directing program decisions.

Johanna earned her masters from Columbia University School of Social Work in 2006. In 2015, she earned her PhD in clinical social work from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. She has over fifteen years of experience working with emotionally challenged youth and their families providing direct clinical services in residential settings, within New York City public schools, and in private practice. For the past five years, Johanna has also supported programming as an administrator and supervisor. Johanna has experience in program development, advocacy, staff training, grant writing, financial management, and program evaluation with a specialization in qualitative and mixed methods research.
