Allen Levine teaches Health, Mental Illness and Disabilities at CSSW. He received an MSW. from New York University in 1977 and a Certificate in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from Long Island Institute for Mental Health in 1982.
Since earning his MSW, Mr. Levine has primarily worked as a social worker, supervisor, and administrator with persons diagnosed with acute, chronic and life limiting illnesses and their family members. Currently he is private practice and consults extensively with schools, hospitals, mental health centers and unions. Mr. Levine’s publications include “The Trajectory of Illness” in Living with Dying: A Handbook for End-of-Life Health Care Practitioners and “Working with Adolescents: Patients, Caregivers, and Siblings in Social Work in Oncology.
